Global warming and solar brightening?

I generally agree with Jeff (other Jeff) except I don't see how the Earth's magnetic field has anything to do with the jet stream. The Earth's and Sun's magnetic field periodicity is not that similar. The sun shifts every 11 years, where the Earth's is more on a scale of a few hundred thousand years. I realize that alarmists would love to blame any cooling in the 1970s on aerosols but that is nothign but convenient speculation. Since we don't have accurate measurements of how much we added to aerosols and I am skeptical of measurements since the 1970s, no one knows IMO. When you say "at the rate it is currently", you need to define a time interval such as the last year or last 10 years. "Currently" really doesn't mean anything or at least I doubt that is what you are asking.
