What is the best possible form of alternative (non-petroleum based) fuel available now?

have u heard that in Nepal there is a tree from which a fuel can be generated.a farmer from jhapa(Nepal) had extracted a fuel from it and he run 20 km a tractor and now there is doing it's farming in hectors of land
