I have a new solar cover for my pool?

the cover is new from last yr. the pool size is above ground 4 ft xi think 24 round. now , the cover is too cumberson for me to put on and take off, question: i think i can cut it in half like where there is a wide seam putting it together. and use the two pieces or just one to get some use from it. what is your take on this idea. have you ever done so. thank you so much
