I am currently receiving an oth discharge ?

I am 22 years old and am currently in the army national guard in Illinois I am financially struggling and am close to being homeless with a child on the way I was asked by my readiness nco and co if I wanted to stay in the guard I said no I wanted to go active duty out switch branches I was told by my readiness nco that they will not release me the only way I can get out is to go AWOL and active army would be able to waiver me unfortunately he didn't tell me that with an oth discharge I couldn't get into any branch I have been having problems with my unit sense I been in and have tried to switch units and they wouldn't let me I have been doing some research and was surprised to see similar cases from other soldiers all around the states I have been in contact with Gi rights and Stephen karns I was told to file an article 138 but I know that could hurt me more than help me I do not want to get out of the military I want to stay in and am trying to do everything I can to stay in if anyone can help me or give me advice please answer back thank you PFC David Ortiz
