its unlikely to be linked to radiation poisoning. radiation poisoning is nasty painful and slow death. the amount of radiation absorbed by each worker is ot likely to be enough for a fatal dose. they will have been given iodine to counteract any radiation poisoning that might occur. i think once again public ignorance will lead to hysteria over something that is perfectly natural. there is no need to panic about it.
