Where can I get good solar panels and other related items(inverters, brackets, etc.)?
Hey Demon, if you are already a lisenced contractor and want to add this field to your business profession, you'll need to have good information about the product, not just who you can buy them from. There is a simple way to do both at the same time. Get a subscription to Home Power Magazine, it is an inexpensive periodical that gets into the nuts and bolts of solar and wind power, rating different panels, turbines, charge controllers, batteries, inverters and such. All these types of devices are pretty mainstream in any solar application, and people that are interested in buying panels from you will expect you to have access and knowledge of them as well. The good thing about reading the magazine is you can catch up on all the equipment, and learn who the manufacturers are at the same time. If you want to get your materiels wholesale for resale, then the best place to start is at the manufacturer. Most solar, battery and inverter manufacturing has only been around a decade or two, which means they do not yet have the depth of developement you might find in say lumber, or steel, or even cars. So starting with them can easily put you in touch with someone in your area, or better yet working directly with the manufacturer in the first place. You'll have to express some knowledge in the area, the magazine and some basic research can get you there. If this parlays into your regular type of work, then it might be worth doing. If instead you're just looking to make a buck reselling solar, you'll end up like some of the vendors we spoke with when we decided 12 years ago to convert our home to solar power, they were busy selling out all their stock because they couldn't support what they sold, and were easily outdone by people in the business who knew what they were talking about. Take a look at the mag, and the other sites below, and make a decision you can live with. Good luck, and take care, Rudydoo
