As a former member of the 82nd Abn. Div, and also with the 1/75 Ranger Bn, promotions are based on several qualifications, time in service, your Military record, points, and your conduct to show leadership skills. Your attitude,apearence in uniform, and your skill qualifications, in your MOS. Pending on your promtion, E-5 or E-6, is based on your supperiors recomindations, and if above that, based on openings in your MOS, and Congressional hearings. Stay out of trouble, no article 15's, attend as many Military schools available, keep sharp, uniforms always clean, be aggresive and take control of leadership opportunities. Do well on skill tests, keep your record updated. The more letters,accomindations,awards, schools, your conduct, all have a impact on promotion. Being Soldier of the month is not a pre-requisite, but, in getting it, usually could be a advacement if your a E-4.Any positive good soldiering is good for promotion. Good luck-Airborne!!!

Can I settle a $7000 old tuition bill?

I have a old tuition bill with a collection agency that is $7000 with NCO Financial, they have added on $2000 in late fees and interest charges. I wanted to know, would it be possible for me to settle this debt with them, how willing would they be to work with me? What percentage should I offer them? Also, the debt has not been placed on my credit report yet, will paying or settling this debt prevent them from placing it on my credit report? Any advice would be helpful, I am working so hard to repair my credit.

Solar panel greenhouse?

So I want to build a greenhouse in a location that gets to -40 and lower without much sunlight in the winter. I was looking for something that would be able to utilize the little sunlight it does get and implement a lighting system run off solar panels to make up for the sunlight it doesn't get. If i did my part 2 physical and i got hurt at work, what should i do?

I am getting out of the ARMY. I'm sorry, its just not for me. I already did my part 2 physical. people that come to this duty station, mainly E4's, tell me at their unit, if someone had already done their part 2, they were pretty much on a dead man's profile. My unit seems to have a different take on it. I still do everything I did before, but they're not as nice about it, since I am leaving. The other day I was told to build up this tent that we use on a regular basis, that just so happens to weigh a lot. Well, being the residential pro at putting this thing together, they definitely didn't feel like letting me slide on setting it up. long story short, i pulled something in my back. i have tried Icey/Hot Pads, pain killers, rest, and drinking water and nothing will stop it. I told my NCO and he told me to deal with it. so how do I do that if i'm not supposed to go to the TMC anymore? and how do i keep from them continuing to abuse me just because they know its not their problem anymore?

I'm in the Army and my sergeant hit me? Should i say something?

Ok, heres what happened. I was 10 minutes late to a duty I got tasked to because I got lost. I explained to my sergeant but he was extremely mad. He smoked me for 30 minutes and was going off on me. When I got up he told me I couldnt pick my wife up and I had to sleep at batallion for a week. My wife was getting out of the hospital. This made me really angry and I said this is bull ****. I know that wasn't right and you should always show the upmost respect to all NCO's. Im only a pv2 and know better then that. When I said it though he charged me like he was going to hit me and another soldier stopped him but he was trying soooo hard to get to me. I was honestly scared and backed away. He is a huge guy and im only 5'9 and 155 pounds. i backed away because I was honestly scared i **** you not. There was a table near by and he kicked it. Well when he kicked it the table hit my knee. My knee is now swollen really bad and went to sick hall really bad. The doc said there is fluid in my knee and it needs to be removed. Its extremely painful. I told command what happend and they arent really doing much about it. Should I go to JAG. I know I was disrespectful but I just feel like he took it to far. What would you do and am I over reacting. Answers please. Thank you. Also Im a good soldier and not a **** bag. I have never been in trouble. He is a staff sergeant and is about to get pinned sergeant first class.

Im starting to see that the Army is loosing its discipline and becoming ghetto! Everywhere I go i see somebody with a shaving profile, haircuts all jacked up and not by AR670-1, pants hanging low in ACU's and when you try to correct them they get all bent out of shape and not give a F. What could be used on an island to make it self sufficient?

You do realize that there are actually people living in island nations that sustain themselves without electricity in this day and age. Towns and villages thrived without modern equipment too. I seem to remember reading about entire empires that dominated most of Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East that did quite well without electricity so do you believe that this would be one of the main concerns of the few remaining survivors from a zombie takeover? I only ask because anyone caught in a survival situation won't be worrying about electricity as a priority. Water, shelter, food, and companionship are all basic needs, your ipod isn't. Sorry, I am a realist but I guess your novel is about zombies so realism isn't the focus. I would aim for a more primative living scenario using water wheels and windmills for things like irrigation and milling. Maybe eventually infrastructer and electricity would emerge but the transition from modern life to island isolation will be much more believable if you focus on the basics of human perseverence. I can imagine people sailing to the mainland (risking being eaten) to gather critical items like medications, basic tools, or maybe radios and batteries for communication but not to gather miles of wiring and computer components. Plus what the heck is going to be on the tube anyway, are the zombies going to start broadcasting the "Zombie Jersey Shore?" Just my two cents. Good luck with the story.

Hello everybody. My name is Sean i enlisted in the split ops training program in the army reserves a while ago. I am currently a junior in high school. i have been going to drill with my unit for a while (i enlisted on nov 4) i leave for boot camp on may 31st!! (im sorry if im giving random info.....it might help) i have been working on trying to get 2 promotions before i leave for basic. i enlisted as an E1 and a while ago i got a guy to join the Army reserves and was told by my recruiter that i would Reserve a promotion because of this. (this probably has nothing to do with it....).....now that ive bored you with my whole situation ill say the problem... i just checked my ako mail and while i was on ako i noticed that my rank had changed from E1 to E2 i don't know whats up with this! any advice on my situation. cause i don't want to go around on ako impersonating a rank that i don't think i am. ps i never was promoted i think cause i believe there would have been a ceremony and some paperwork.. i just want to get this whole thing cleared up. any suggestions. cause i think i will probably just email my nco about this and see what he has to say! (and please don't complain about my spelling i know it sucks but im tired) so thanks to anyone who can give me any suggestions about why ako says im an E2!

What does it take to become nco?

It really depends on branch of service. I know for sure to become a marine nco, you must have a good rifle score, good pt score, do your MCI's, have good pros and cons (counseling marks) and time is service points. Also time in service must at least be a year. Normally people don't even have a high score at the end of a year but will get "meritoriously promoted" if they are outstanding people. These things add up and you rate a score. The score (cutting score) you will need to become an NCO depends on your job (MOS) For example, a radio operator usually has a low cutting score, so easy to get promoted. Honestly, with some jobs you can do bad in one area, like a bad rifle score, and still get promoted because the score is so low. But some jobs, like administration are high. Sometimes the score you need gets so high, they close the MOS so nobody gets promoted for that month. This is usually do to limited spaces. To some degree all branches work on a similar level as this. Keep in mind this is just for becoming a first level nco.

Yes. It's not as big a deal as you think. In the Army, you're viewed as a soldier more so than you are by gender. Should a soldier out-rank you, then you can get 'smoked' regardless of gender.

Is this disobeying a NCO?

I am currently deployed right now. My NCO today told me that I need to put a tent up that fell overnight. The tent is never used and its for "relaxing". This NCO is an E-6. I then told him that I really need to take care of some legal issues and that I need to see legal for a POA. He told me no I can do it later. That is the answer I always recieve and it never happens. My squad leader (E-5) then came to me and asked what is going on. I told him my issue and that I need to get the POA. He told me that he was taking another soldier from my squad to legal! He told me to go hop in the truck and that I can go. I told him what the E-6 told me and he said he dont give a F*$k get in the truck. The E-6 knows that if I dont get this done I will lose $7000. So when I got back from legal he had a counseling statement ready for me. He said I disobeyed him and that it is not going to be tolerated. I informed him that my squad leader said I was going regardless what he said. I thought you always executed the last order given???? This E-6 brives me with stuff to want me to get promoted. I dont want to get promoted because I dont feel I'm ready to be a leader. He has offered that his son will do my ACCP for me and he will give me awards and other bs. Please help

Sorry, but GRUMPY is correct here. From the sounds of it, you are a prime example of why I think it is crazy how fast the army promotes people. If it's one thing a good NCO learns is time management; not excuses. You are not in the states in garrison anymore. You are in a war zone. With that, the rules are more serious and for good reason. You are very lucky to just get counseling. As an NCO, you are held responsible for a lot of things you don't even know about. You are not being torn down. You are being corrected. If you don't see what you did was wrong, you have no business being an NCO. Additionally, what others get away with is not your concern. The fact is, you were sleep on duty and you were away from your place of duty for personal reasons. If you can't hold up your end of the log, don't pick it up. You have found out that you are not superman....the hard way. You've only been in theater for 2 weeks and probably still suffering from jet lag which why they probably put you on the shift you are on...to adjust. However, bad things can happen at night and YOU as the NCO are responsible. The fact that your troops knew where you are or are covering for you doesn't cut it. Why aren't these troops helping you with your paperwork? Why aren't you mentoring them to help you so they can become team leaders too. Not to be harsh, but you are finding out what happens when you try to be an "Army of one". Use this as a learning experience or do not re-enlist. Afterall, that IS what UCMJ action is supposed to be...a teaching tool; not punishment. Do some more homework on that. BTW, if you do get what you want, you will just be putting someone else in your place that may or may not be able to handle it or doesn't want to deploy away from their family as well.

I am currently in tech school for security forces, after some research i found that contracting is more of my interest. I am in the reserves and am in a 6 year enlistment. I was wondering what its going to take for me to cross train into contracting asap. Why Can't Geographical bachelors, Non-IETs Live in single soldier housing?

I was told as a Soldier Re-enlisting for another six years that we would be provided single soldier quarters/housing while we are training by my retention NCO. When i got to this unit they immediately told those of us who are Non-IET that the only way that we would get single soldier barracks was if we were not in rolled in training but were actually stationed there. on top of that we are forced to live in the same barracks as the AIT soldiers. We are being treated like THEM! The command is always saying "There is no difference between you and those AIT soldiers". Like hell there is! They haven't been in for more than four years, they havent deployed for 15 months in Iraq and i am very sure I earned the right to be treated with respect and as an adult in this army.

Retention NCO offering 24 month Stability and 24 month reduction in MSO. I'm Skeptical.?

So im getting out after doing four years active duty, I have the option of 4 years in the IRR or in the NG/Reserves. The Retention NCO is offering 24 month Stability and 24 month reduction in MSO if I join either the ng/reserve. The problem is he hasn't really backed these programs up with any real documentation, and after doing some internet searching its looks like the MSO program was from 2006-2009 as an experiment and Ive found nothing in documentation about guaranteeing two years stability. Has anyone got out recently taken these options? If so is there a catch-22 in the contract somewhere? Or should i just risk it in the IRR?

I want to go for the slightly fanned out look. I really like Tracy from Jerseylicious' french manicure with the pink & white, just not quite so fanned out. Pool pump rattles loudly and stuff always floating on pool water, what is going on?

My solar isn't heating the pool. The little stuff on the pool never seems to get to the skimmer to be filtered even after days of 9.5 hours of the pump running on a 20K gal pool. The pool pump rattles like little pieces are in it. Yet, water chemistry is good. No algae. I even took the water to be tested a Leslies and they said it was textbook. At first I was thinking the pump wasn't working yet the pressure seems normal as well. I know we never had this problems with all these little things floating remaining in the pool until I use the net. Please any advise would really help. Thank you so much!

I feel like my NCO has crossed the line, Answers and tips please?!?!?

Ok heres what happened. I am a SPC in the Army. I'm stationed in Alaska. I was tasked for a duty on saturday. I haven't been here long and just recently bought a vehicle. I was having a lot of trouble finding this place and got lost. I called my supervisor (who is an E5) and told him I couldn't find the place and thought I was going to be late. Sure enough I ended up being 10 minutes late. My supervisor told me i was fine and I called so I wasn't in trouble. He understood I'm new to the area and was very understanding. After the detail my NCOIC (who is an E7) approached me. He told me to drop and with no questions asked I dropped and knew he was doing it because I was late. He was extremely mad. He was yelling so bad and smoked me for about 30 minutes. He was screaming the whole time telling me how I am a dirtbag. I was late so i manned up and understood this was just my corrective training. I have know problem accepting when I'm wrong and just did what I'm told, when I'm told, and how I'm told. He finally let me up. I told him I needed to pick my wife up because she had pneumonia. She had been in there a week and was ready to go home. The detail was over. My NCOIC told me I could not pick her up and had to report straight to batallion because I had to sleep there for a week. This just seemed so harsh especially because I was only ten minutes late, new to the area, and called my supervisor. I said permission to speak and he gave me permission. I said Sgt can I please pick up my wife first and just take her home. He new she has been in the hospital. He told me to shut the **** up and drop again. This really upset me and I dont understand why I could just take my wife home. Out of anger and frustration I said this is bullshit. I know that wasn't right but I felt like I had absolutely no control and dont understand why they wouldnt just let me take care of my wife. I know you are to always show respect to NCO'S and what I said was very unprofessional. I was so frustrated I actually almost cried. After I said, "this is bullshit" my NCO charged me like he was going to hit me. He is a very very big guy. My supervisor got in front of him and stopped him but he was trying so hard to get to me. I backed away because I weas honestly scared. He was so mad and you could tell he just wanted to put his hands on me. It literally took all of my supervisors strength to stop him. We were out side and it was a picnic for memorial day. He kicked a table really hard that was near me and it slid into my knee extremely hard. I instantly dropped to the ground in pain. I promise you I'm not exagerating. I told my command but it has been awhile and it seems like they are doing nothing about it. Today he even told me I have to do a 4,000 word essay on respect. I don't see how this can be accepted in the Army. I have always been told that no one can hurt you no matter what there rank. I requested to be moved to a different section to my 1sg but noting was done. He even told me today that there is no esacping him and he is going to make sure I'm his. My other NCO's in my section even call and ask me if I'm ok and say there sorry about what happened. It is so awkward at work now and feel like its affecting the way I preform duty. Is what my NCOIC did acceptable? Am I over reacting? Can I talk to JAG or IG about this situation or will this just make my life more miserable? I told my NCOIC I'm extremely depressed and thought about hurting myself because I'm so upset about the way things happened. He called me a little girl and said I dont have the balls to kill myself. I feel like he has crossed the line big time. Can someone please help me or give me advice on what I can do. I have never had issues with being late so this is not an issue with me. I have wonderful monthly counsleing statements and actually got a waiver to get my PFC early due to hard work. I'm so lost on what to do. If someone can help me, please help. I went to sick hall and my knee is swollen. The doc gave me a 30 day profile and said I have fluid in my knee and that i will have to be surgically removed. I also have to start physical therapy. My profile situation?

I had a 30 day Temp Profile, I was on the last day of it and required to go back in for a check up after it expired. We had a PT test on that day. I told multiple NCO's I was on a profile. I was told to do the PT test anyways. So I did it, passed everything but the walk, first time walking it and leg really started hurting the last two laps. Anyways, they flagged me and told me that the temp said I could do the alternate event. my question is at the bottom in comments it was written by the Doc that I was to walk at own pace and distance. Now I have looked at AR 21-20 and it says that you can do a alternate event IF the profile is over 90 days. Mine was a 30 profile, what should or can I do?

Can a bad pool pump affect roof solar heating of the pool?

If you are on a Profile and you have to take a pt test does it still count?

My husband had a pt test last week and failed. He has just gotten back from Poland and was not in shape. He has trouble with his knee, if he uses it to much... to much running it acts up. He has been on profile for it several times. This morning he went to sick call once again to get some answers to find out why his knee is hurting. He has to start going to physical therapy, and is on a no running profile for one month. He has another pt test tomorrow and his nco's are giving him trouble saying its not going to count, and that he only went to sick call to get out of the pt test. He still wants to take it, and it still counts, but he cant run he can only walk. What are the regulations on this? Will it count? What happens when a collections agency sells your account to another collections agency?

So NCO just sold my account/debt to Plaza Associates. NCO reported this debt to the three credit bureaus and i was working with them to take it off. So now that they sold it, will my credit report have two collections agencies for the same debt, or will NCO just fall off and be replaced by Plaza? Plaza seems to be easier to work with and may remove the derogatory item from my credit report, but i want to make sure that I don't pay the money before NCO is off too. Advice please.

Help!!! Have an E5 that lied to an NCO. This was the first offense but this isn't the first lie.?

Barracks/housing inspections?

Lord knows how many times I've heard this question in one form or another. Each post and sometimes each unit (depending on the situation) varies on this matter. On some installations or within various units the unit itself does not control the barracks what so ever. However, general good order and discipline must be maintained at all times. The whole "good order and discipline," is usually where chain of commands get to do pretty much whatever they like within reason. For soldiers who reside to what is typically "one-post housing," they usually can have their homes/residences inspected. For soldiers who reside off the installation, I have seen them get their residences inspected as well. From what I've seen in the past, it get's magnified or brought to surface through a negative incident. For example, the post CSM passing by barracks and finding X items not to his liking or within standards, post housing contacting the chain of command for X reasons like damage done to rooms by their soldiers, civilian land lords contacting chain of commands for X reasons. Typically what you'll find should be posted somewhere (typically secured to your door, on a bulletin board somewhere, something you should have been presented to read prior to signing for the room, etc., etc.) stating such intentions as "soldiers who reside in this barracks will have their rooms clean, presentable, free of trash, and ready for inspection at any time. Soldiers leadership (Team Leader, Squad Leader, etc., etc.) will or can make regular or random inspections to ensure good order and discipline is maintained at all times and safety of soldiers is ensured." Again though, for a regulation, I doubt you'll find one since so many individual barracks, units, and installations are controlled or managed in so many different ways.

There are a ton of things you can do....consult your concerns with the supervisor, let him know where you stand on social functions, prying into your personal life is out of bounds, having you perform more additional duties because of failure to participate is unacceptable. now, after you have consulted with him and things keep going the wrong direction, make sure you keep notes, date, and time of your counseling session, next step is to use your chain of command. in the end if all fails you still have options: a) request for transfer to new unit, b) the Inspector General is another route you can go, however, have your ducks in line, C) social actions would be another resort. social actions is simply a base organization that is used to intervene when there is problem in unit that needs to be resolved. the commander and 1st shirt are brought into light which they already know about the problem because you used the chain of command. social actions ensure the commander or 1st shirt are communicating the concerns to the supervisor. take your pick but be very cautious.

Sounds like gang activity. The police or some other law enforcement need more informants as to when and where gang activity is taking place so they can be ready for them and take them down. The only thing that is going to stop the shooters is if they are the ones getting shot and preferably killed. I know it sounds crude, but that's how it used to be done.

Anyone with a child with this disorder?

My niece who is almost 5 has Asperger's Syndrome. I know a few facts about it but not a lot. When she comes over she plays by herself and doesnt really like to talk to people. If what you say is fact, the personnel office will submit your info for a back date of March. If your chain of command is not taking care of this for you, you can request to go to the next level. You have been in the Marines for almost 4yrs now, and if you have not made Corporal, it is nobody fault but yours. I do know how hard it is for enlisted to get promoted in the Marines. I knew many of my troops that got out as Lance Corporals. If you have made the cutoff score, then you will be pinned according to what the Headquarters date your rank. If it is in error, just submit paperwork for it to be corrected. If the higher office thinks there was an error, then you will be back dated. You should do all of your MCIs and not just the ones needed for promotion. These courses can be transferred to College credits and help you get your degree faster. Good luck to you. Hopefully you have a plan for your future outside of the Marines. Let me tell you there are not many jobs out there. I am retired at 40. My advice is to make sure you want to really get out. The War will not go on Forever.

Med board question for prior service NCO.?

I am prior servise Navy, of four years active duty, and now over two years active Army. I have possible compartment syndrom in both of my lower legs along with plantar fascitis. This was all due to the "new" running technique that was taught and forced in the Warrier Transition Course. Now, I cannt hardly march, ruck, and deffinetly cannt run. Is this something that can result in a med board? Are there benifits that would result.? I.E., a percentage. I never tried to make a claim on the knee the Navy operated on, because it is better. However, this is deffinetly the Army's mistake. Any advise on how to go about this?

I just enlisted for a three year contract with the US Army as an E3 Petroleum Supply Specialist and need to know if I have a realistic chance of making it into OCS. First I'm 26, African-American, and I have 78 credit hours. I've worked in factory for the last five years. Prior to that, I was a Package Handler at Fedex and a college student with a GPA of 2.1. Before that I was home-schooled and have a GED. I have about 11,000 in outstanding credit debt that WILL be paid off by the time I leave AIT. Five speeding tickets in 8yrs. Lastly, I scored an 86 on the ASVAB and my lowest individual skill score was 123. I have no problem retiring as an NCO but I would like to know if I could make 2ND LT. If I can make it, what can i do to improve my chances? I already plan to enroll in the green-to-gold program but I can't find anyone who actually went through the program. What can I do to be a effective officer candidate?

I am 22 years old and am currently in the army national guard in Illinois I am financially struggling and am close to being homeless with a child on the way I was asked by my readiness nco and co if I wanted to stay in the guard I said no I wanted to go active duty out switch branches I was told by my readiness nco that they will not release me the only way I can get out is to go AWOL and active army would be able to waiver me unfortunately he didn't tell me that with an oth discharge I couldn't get into any branch I have been having problems with my unit sense I been in and have tried to switch units and they wouldn't let me I have been doing some research and was surprised to see similar cases from other soldiers all around the states I have been in contact with Gi rights and Stephen karns I was told to file an article 138 but I know that could hurt me more than help me I do not want to get out of the military I want to stay in and am trying to do everything I can to stay in if anyone can help me or give me advice please answer back thank you PFC David Ortiz

Military discharge/depression?

I am currently in South Korea and applied for a curtailment. I seen a counselor and I have been diagnosed with depression, ptsd, and insomnia. I am not on any meds for this as of right now. I keep having major mood swings mainly with anger at others. I have to force myself up to go to work and even to shave, this is not normal to me. I even snap at my NCO's and I don't why. If an Army doctor recommended you for an EPTS chapter, chances are 99.9% that you'll be medically separated. Your company NCO is not in a position to tell you anything -- your company commander is the decision authority. If you're concerned about it, the best thing you can do is talk to your First Sergeant. He/She should be informed of what's going on anyway.

I ask this question to any current and prior Marines that just separated from the service. I am currently a Soldier at the rank of E4 with one deployment under his belt. Since he had situational authority, he can counsel you. However, if he's trying to make a big deal about it after the fact (and you have the backing of your NCO) then you can probably appeal the issue to your Platoon Sergeant. He may even send you to the Platoon Leader to plead your case, but I don't expect it to go anywhere beyond that. If the counseling is unwarranted and just a case that this other person brought up out of spite, it could have repercussions for them for acting unprofessionally.

I think I just lost my best Friends. Am I Stupid?

I then later today got a hurtful letter that made me think a lot.. so I then wrote one back saying I was ending everything we ever had for good. This was ten minutes ago and I dont think they read it yet. I just slid it under the door. Did I **** up??

Water heater with no water pressure?

I'll be moving into a yurt within the year and while I have damned near everything figured out...hot water eludes me. Cheap KOI Pond aeration needed.?

Ok this is kind of a long story so please bare with me. Back in November my husband and I got into an altercation and there was some pushing and shoving going on nothing more. My husband was tired of all the fighting in front of the kids and called the cops thinking that i would go to jail just to prove a point to me i guess.Well the cops came out we BOTH got arrested even though my husband didn't want to press charges I guess since there were kids here it wasn't his choice. So we went and talked to a detective and then were booked in jail for the weekend. We have been in and out of court several times and we have a NCO placed for the time being. Neither one of us took the plea cause we didn't want to testify against each other. Neither one of us has ever been in trouble with the law or had any previous record of the cops being called out. My attorney has filed a motion to dismiss and the Prosecutor has attempted to give us another plea bargain. I really dont want a Felony on my record just due to one bad altercation. If we dont take the plea it will go to trial. Im scared and I want my family back together this has gone on way too long. Do you think the judge will dismiss the case or will it go to trial? Please help!!!! I even wrote a letter to the Prosecuting attorney asking her to please drop the charges and that we were willing to take counseling classes at our cost to better cope with problems that arise in my marriage as they do in all. It will be 6 months on May 13th from the day we were arrested . I just cant believe they are trying to make this a high profile case. Also the prosecting attorney is also the same one for my husband that seems like a conflict of interest to me.

I live in Riverside, ca... I need help in finding a good job... I have a family now and I'm looking for a job that I can call home. But I don't know anyone who will give me the opportunity to show off my skills. I've had tons of interviews but none has called me back... I'm not great when it comes to interviews, I get nervous and I somehow lose myself while I'm talking, it gets very frustrating because I know I can do the job but like I said the interview is what kills me. As far as i know the universe doesn't have a distinct shape. All anybody really knows is that the edge of space is constantly expanding and that outside the edge there is absolutely nothing (in other words if you think of it, it doesn't exist). And about that whole no time in space thing.....that's a little tougher to understand. Basically, the faster something is moving in space the less time it experiences. This doesn't mean a couple miles an hour faster, this is on a scale of getting closer and closer to the speed of light. Hope this helped a little and didn't end up making you more confused :)

In the Army, when does time on station start?

I know this seems simple, but the question is, does it start the day I sign in to the post? From the day I start to in-process the installation? The unit? I want out of this assignment, and I am looking at minimums, and this is the one I am caught on. I am not boo hoo about it. I have been to other units and loved it, but this one has a whole lot of "Paper NCOs" and I refuse to partake in training dirt-bags to be dirt-bag NCOs. The main advantage to solar energy is that, unlike fossil fuels, it is inexhaustible. Not only that but there is little to no harmful emissions associated with renewable energy. Wind power is a form solar energy as well. Currently solar power is used for residential homes primarily. Flat solar panels feed energy into the cities power grids, effectively running the homes meter backwards for as much power as the panel produces. To answer your question about the tower, it is estimated that a tower that would produce 100 MegaWatts would have to be 1000 m high and 20 KMs in area. To give you a scale coal plants produce about 3.5 gigawatts in comparison. Currently wind energy shares a similar efficiency rating (20.3%). There are other renewable resources such as tidal energy and geothermal energy but those are rather lacking as well.
